The controversial cloud versions of the Kingdom Hearts Games on Switch got a new update today, Square Enix Japan announced. This means that all three collections – Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue and Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind – are now at version 1.0.3.

The updates mainly bring minor changes to these ports, which will require you to be connected to the internet to stream. However, Kingdom Heart III has gained an additional option that lets you choose between Performance and Graphics modes, which is common in many video games these days.

Here are the patch notes for each game in the Kingdom Hearts Masterpiece Integrum Collection, machine-translated from the Square Enix Japan support pages:

Kingdom Hearts – HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix – Patch 1.0.3 (Released May 12, 2022)

– Server overload status is now displayed on the portal screen.

Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue – Patch 1.0.3 (Released May 12, 2022)

– Server overload status is now displayed on the portal screen.

Kingdom Hearts III + Re Mind – Patch 1.0.3 (Released May 12, 2022)

– Server overload status is now displayed on the portal screen.
– When launching a game from the portal screen, you can now select either “Performance Priority” or “Graphics Priority” to play.

At least now, fans who bought the cloud versions of the game can see how busy the servers are, but many still wonder why certain entries can’t be easily ported over to the system. We asked this question to Ichiro Hazama – the series’ producer – back in October of last year, who said that porting the titles directly has proven to be “quite difficult”. That absolutely means we get Kingdom Hearts IV on Switch, right? Right?!

You can see for yourself what we think of the entire collection in our review below, but we want to hear from you if you’ve played the cloud versions of the Kingdom Hearts games and if you think these updates will be helpful !
