The Chinese company just announced its latest gaming console, which features AMD’s latest Ryzen 6000U “Rembrandt” APU with Zen3+ and RDNA2 architectures.

The Ryzen 7 6800U is the latest AMD processor for thin and light systems. This APU has 8 cores and 16 threads, which can speed up to 4.7GHz, which is 300MHz higher than AYANEO Next series. In addition, this processor is equipped with RDNA2 graphics, that is, the same architecture as SteamDeck.

However, the AYANEO2 console will no doubt be faster here, as the 6800U ships with integrated Radeon 680M graphics, which has 12 Compute Units: 50% more than Steam Deck. In fact, the iGPU subsystem can accelerate up to 2.2GHz, which is 600MHz higher than SteamDeck. This means that the iGPU is almost twice as fast (3.38 TFLOPS vs. 1.6 TFLOPS). The company’s CEO confirmed that the device will be as powerful as the GTX 1050 Ti.

The APU operates in the power range of 15 to 28 W, which gives companies like AYANEO2 some room for adjustment. Handheld game console manufacturers often use configurable TDP to unlock full performance when the device is connected to a docking station or simply powered by a charger.

The company has presented the device with various games such as Metro Exodus, Cyberpunk 2077, Witcher 3, Elden Ring and others. Based on what the company has revealed, it has a 1280×800 screen. It’s a bezel-less display, which isn’t the case with the SteamDeck or Nintendo Switch.

According to Arthur Zhang, the company’s CEO, who announced the new console, AYANEO 2 will also include a new fingerprint module and new software features that the company is yet to announce. Finally, the device will be launched at the end of this year, but the exact launch date has not yet been confirmed.
