Britney Spears announces the loss of ‘miracle baby’ in early pregnancy | Britney Spears

Britney Spears says she lost a baby early in her pregnancy.

Spears announced the loss in a joint post with her fiancé Sam Asghari on Instagram on Saturday. The pop superstar, who won her freedom from a court that controlled her life for more than a decade, said in April she was expecting a child with Asghari.

“It is with the deepest sadness that we have to announce that we lost our miracle baby early in pregnancy. This is a devastating time for all parents,” the post said.

“Perhaps we should have waited until we’re further ahead to announce, but we were overly excited to share the good news.

“Our love for one another is our strength,” the post reads. “We will continue to try to expand our beautiful family.”

Spears, 40, said she longed for a baby with 28-year-old Asghari, a personal trainer, but also said the nearly 14-year conservatorship, which a judge ended last year, forced her to be at the birth control.

“I want to be able to get married and have a baby,” she said in court last year. “I was just told in conservatory that I can’t get married or have a baby.”

The two met on the set of their Slumber Party video in 2016.

Spears and Asghari got engaged in September last year, days after her father filed a motion to quit conservatoire. The singer had told the court that she wanted to marry Asghari but was not even allowed to ride with him under the conservatory. Spears joked in September that the proposal was “far overdue.”

Spears has two sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
